My Interview with Dr. Wayne Dyer!

Ok, I confess, this isn’t an actual interview with Dr Dyer. But as many of you know, I have stated that my ultimate goal is to have a career that models what Wayne Dyer has done. He has over 20 books out there, and just travels the country (and world) speaking about metaphysics and spirituality, writing books, making a fortune, while contributing to the awakening of mankind. Now thats a real job! Stay tuned, because I definitely intend to have Wayne as one of my guests!

My Guest Experts are teaching me already!

Today was an interesting day. I was scheduled to conduct my very first phone interview that would become a Prosperity Radio podcast. But I didn’t get my “release form” to the guest until the last minute. Once they read the release form, they felt very uncomfortable proceeding with the interview because of the legalese, so it didn’t happen. I was very surprised, as this is not what I had expected as an outcome.  In hindsight, I should have read it more closely and tried to see it from my guest’s perspective.

Instead, what happened was that I had to go back and really think through the core values of Prosperity Radio, to come up with a value proposition that would work for the listeners/subscribers, the guests, and myself. Although I was upset at first that the interview didn’t happen, I reminded myself that all things happen for a reason, and that I needed to set aside my agenda for a moment and check in with myself to see where my motives were.

This guest is a person of very high integrity, and if they were uncomfortable proceeding, then there must be very good reason, and I was blind to it until they pointed it out. We actually ended up saying a short prayer, and then I meditated on it for a bit, and moved forward. I had to remind myself that if the business didn’t create a win/win/win situation, then I didn’t want to be in the business.

So, 1 step back, 2 steps forward! I will draft and send a new release form, vastly different from the original, and hopefully they will agree to appear on the “show” in the near future. This version of the release form is much more about values, creating value, and focusing on what is in it for them (the guests) instead of being about me and my desire to have complete freedom to market and resell podcasts as I see fit. I think my listeners will be the real winners in this new arrangement. Stay tuned!

Table of Consciousness?

Hey everyone, just a quick note to let you know that I posted a draft table of contents of my book. Here’s the link: http://www.ProsperityRadio.com/toc.htm Last night I was at a summer solstice / book release party thrown by my beautiful friend Kamala, who I will be interviewing for an upcoming podcast about the unity of sexuality and prosperity.

Her latest book is called Sexual Healing – The Shaman Method of Sex Magic, and was co-created with Baba Dez Nichols, a shaman tantric teacher.

The first thing I noticed about their book (aside from the very cool cover art) is that she doesn’t call her table of contents that, she calls it the Table of Consciousness. I like that much better! So… in the tradition of borrowing great ideas, my table of contents will be called the same. Thanks Kamala and Dez!

What to Name my Book?

Who would have thought that coming up with a book title would be so hard? I have been kicking around some ideas for hte book ever since the original idea came to me to write the book. I still haven’t gotten the perfect title, but I enlisted help. I sent a few close friends my proposed titles, and got some excellent feedback!

Some of these friends came up with much better titles that I had come up with, which just goes to show the power of a mastermind group, or of a brainstorming session. Another friend offered that when I hit on the right title, I will know it! Her suggestion, which is excellent, is to ask the Universe for guidance, and to be open to it when that guidance comes.

I want the book to be as helpful and appealing to as many people as possible, so it can spread and do good in the world. So… Universe: hear me now: “SEND ME THE PERFECT BOOK TITLE!”

There, that should do the trick! And thank you to everyone who is offering suggestions – keep them coming. I’m sure the Universe will respond through one of you.
